A Rainy Day

It was just another day in Brussels for any Belgian. Day started on a bright note with sun shining with all its might. From the window I could see the beauty all around. And from the window of my heart, it was even more beautiful. Lately it has been decorated by someone who I can surely say, is the one. So no wonder I found it hard to go out and appreciate the worldly beauty, as I was too happy to indulge myself in her pure, calm and serene love. But as we can make the World more beautiful by decorating it with even more beautiful things, so here we went to explore Brussels. So now Brussels just didn’t had those architectural beauties, but my baby has stepped out and made it even more beautiful. No wonder Brussels looked more beautiful than ever.

Have you ever gone to a Bowling Alley?? Even I didn’t till this Sunday. Though this was not something on our agenda but thanks to virtual public toilettes in Brussels and my inability to be a Manneken-Pis, I got the opportunity to go to Loo, in a FREE toilette in this Bowling Alley  This was not something to be proud of but I thought it was cool and I also wanted to bring to the notice the lack of public toilettes in an International City like Brussels.

Moving on to better things  .Sun was shining, keeping us warm. But the Belgian Dark Sky loomed over us and it became kind of a tussle between the two, that who is mightier. And there were times when there was no warmth of sun, but who needs it, when some one so warm has lightened up your life. I didn’t even felt need to put on my gloves  as they were holding the most soft and warm little hands. Though the sky didn’t rain, my little angel couldn’t bear the tussle in her heart, that lead to a downpour. One could bear the rain of the mighty clouds but these tear drops were just unbearable. Each drop has an emotion, a meaning, a message and all of this just compelled me to think WHY?

WHY the whole life is so complex? We, humans have made the World, its different religions, languages, regions. So why does “it” control our lives and not the other way round?? I don’t know WHY? Why something just so simple, so beautiful, so lucid, gets so complex when we think of we being part of this World and not just 2 people in love with each other.? I wish I knew WHY dear, WHY?

Which religion, which God would tell you not to love or not to be loved? Or does one have to love a person from just of his own religion, region, color?? Could someone explain me that? Or would I get another wise advice “That Its Better That Way”. A better way, never always needs to be the convenient way. But most of us have the allusion that it is. And why not, its convenient, as it keeps everyone happy, except the one who should be. But its not the way it should be. Get out of your shells and see and feel what world has to offer. What beauty is , what compassion is, what true love is. If you want to feel and know what it feels like, than stop doing the logistics before you fall in love.

Logistics???????What the heck is this guy writing about??.Logistics in Love??Is this what you shouted out loud?? People all over the world do that knowingly or unknowingly, all the time. If you are thinking of which religion, which region, which caste and what language does a person speak, who otherwise is the one whom you can love, then that is nothing but just a trade off. Stop doing that or matter of hearts would not be about hearts anymore. It would just become a deal for which you have to do necessary logistics and some trade off of emotions.

I might, might not get what I truly want, in fact I can say I need as it is one of the most beautiful thing that has happened to me. I am glad that it happened to me because this has made me a better man than I was, a happier one than I was ever. I just wanted to reach out to so many people who must be right now making compromises and trade-offs and taking the road of convenience. Don’t do that. Just don’t.

Health is Wealth :)

I hope most of us believe in "Health is Wealth". So lets get richer and helps other also in their pursuit :) But how and why I wrote this?? Read this dear:

Right now I am in a foreign land (EU Country), and the worst thing that can happen to one is? Fall sick. Do not get shocked by this answer, of a question, which can perhaps have many answers. I will leave those possible, plausible answers for the readers’ imagination. But this is something, which is my personal experience. Actually it was not me but my one of my colleague, who got sick. With long working hours and meals (rarely Indian) which end up at Mcdonalds, anyone, anytime can surrender to the cold weather conditions.

I brought some medicines for such situation and that’s what helped my colleague recover quickly and I must say cheaply  . And this incident brought my attention to the fact that in India, we have really affordable health care facilities. Thanks to the government for its policies because of which we get most of the medicines at affordable prices,

But again the term AFFORDABLE, is relative. It might be just affordable for me. It can be like really cheap for another person and it can be a reason for someone’s death, as it was perhaps costlier than that poor man’s life. I am not kidding when I say that. People die because of the lack of medical care. And it’s a fact. One can admit it or can ignore it.

Just admitting and moving on doesn’t help, and ignoring it is one of the reasons, why this is happening. So please don’t ignore it. And when you acknowledge it, come forward and do what little you can do. One can get associated with any NGO working in this direction. I am sure there are plenty waiting for you to GOOGLE them  (I would be glad to help you locate one)

There is another approach. You are a part of society. So the place where you are living, get some like minded people and make your own society for this cause. Contribute to any fixed little amount per house/flat. Select the area (any slum) where you want to channel your services. If you have some doctors staying in your society/colony/mohalla, well and good, but if you don’t, many of the people have family doctors or acquaintances, who can either do it for free or a nominal fee. Once you get a Doc, arrange a health camp and get things rolling. It is not as simple as said, but it is definitely not impossible.

I have read, experienced and now I firmly believe that there is little good, in each and everyone of us. This element just needs to be rekindled. And then you know no bounds, no more self-built restraints. And that little part of your self, the unrecognized, the unknown; will be the NEW YOU. Sometimes it takes forever for one to realize this.We know “Better Late Then Never”, though its true, but in this case I personally feel,“Sooner, The Better” no just for self, but also for the people’s lives you could have impacted in a positive way.

Note: While I was writing this, I got this information (through mail) from someone who is doing his bit. The information is as follows:

My Experiments with Truth!! (not Bapu's)

I will be sharing some of "my" experiments with truth here. Though the title was inspired by Bapu's (Mahatama Gandhi) autobiography, which I am reading these days, I believe that each one of us, has faced moments of truth. The incident has not to be a news-breaking one. It can be as simple as coming across an innocent but dirty and half-naked kid, in the streets of Delhi in chilly winter nights. What do you do when you come across such a plight? Has anyone of you offered that kid any kind of help? By help, I don’t mean giving a Re 1 coin. What I mean is, did you try to realize and do your bit for helpless and homeless kids?

If truth be told, I didnt. But after this incident, something dawned on me. I began to think and the more I though, the more I brought. Brought what???? I brought more compassion and will, to devote some of my time, to do "my" bit and if possible help my near and dear ones, realize the same.

How to do this? "Where there is a Will, There is a Way". So most importantly, one should be really willing to make a difference. Once the will is there, you can easily approach a local NGO, depending on the field you have a passion for. It can be a NGO which work towards Education of under-privileged kids, or Health Sector (there are specific fields like Tobacco , AIDS, etc etc.)
I can assure you that you will be most welcome at these NGOs. And once you start working in that organization, you will come to know that these organizations are always in need of more volunteers and of course dough. Many of these organizations are running on shoe-string budgets. So, any kind of help makes a lot of difference.

How can one contribute? Each one of us has our strong and weak traits. Some of us are natural teachers, some are good at managing, some are born leaders and some are excellent speakers. So one can be helpful in his own way. You can start a fund-raising campaign; you can negotiate a new place for opening up a school/hostel. Possibilities are just endless.

How it helps you? This is one thing which one should put on back burner if he really wants to give back to the society. Because community service demands and requires a selfless service. But heres the catch. Though one might not get something tangible, and feelings like self-satisfaction and an internal peace, though may sound like taken from a Bollywood flick :), but thats something you would definitely feel. Apart from this, coming to how it makes you survive better in your academic and professional life? Most of the time we have to work in teams, here you will get to know how to do that effectively. You will get to lead a campaign. You might end up speaking in front of a large crowd or may be even media. And when you come across such a situation, you will definitely be doing it with utmost sincerity Because, you know that there is a whole Cause on stake. This way you will be improving yourself in the most unexpected yet a way which lays the way for many to a better life.

I hope you will read this and will spend some time thinking about it.

Note: If you want to know that how can you get involved in community service or any other query, feel free to mail me or leave a message in response to this blog and your email id. I will get back to you.

Cheersssss :)
